Hakuba

Hakuba was by far my favourite place of my travels. After a bus, a flight, another bus, a train and then another train, I had made my way from Sapporo to Hakuba. It was a long day of travel, especially as I was still getting over the flu, but it was well worth it.

Sapporo

As much as I found Sapporo pretty, especially at night, It hit me for six. The cold had found a new place to call home. I was that home.

Tokyo

It was light, it was dark and it was contrast. Tokyo was a place I thought I would not enjoy, but in the highlights and in the shadows was something special.

Kanazawa

Strangely enough, I think I was one of the few, if not the one of the group that enjoyed our stay in Kanazawa. Even though there were times it felt like everywhere was closed and the population of Kanazawa were playing a big game of hide and seek, us being the seekers, I enjoyed the quiet. To me it was a place of simple surprises.

Kyoto / Nara

Kyoto was definitely one the most unique places I have ever been and as much as I enjoyed the traditional architecture, I could not help but feel a sense of unrest. The battle between holding onto history and accepting the uncontrollable change of the world.

Osaka

Osaka was a great start to my five weeks in Japan. A little busy and hectic for my liking but a great experience all the same!

There would be no guarantee of course of high quality, gripping and interesting words or imagery, but non the less I still think it a nice thing to do. To get ones thoughts out of ones head. Whether it be by use of pen and paper or pixels on a digital screen.
